Cape Angel got his maiden win at Suffolk Downs last year on Labor Day weekend in his seventh career start and fourth career attempt on turf against maiden claimers, which means he could have been running against anything, including people dressed up in horse suits (okay, for the lawyers, that's a joke, kind of).
Then, Cape Angel made his first start since his maiden win in East Boston at, of all places, opening day of the 2018 meet at Saratoga, and won a conditioned claimer, for which he was a waiver entrant, at a relatively paltry 9-1.
And just now, Cape Angel moved up in class and won a starter allowance race, again on the grass, to become a two-time winner at this Saratoga meet, which isn't even half over yet.
I just want to say, if they made a movie out of this, I'd watch it. Twice. In the meantime, I tip my hat to Cape Angel and the people who have guided his career. They know how to get the job done!
