Trainer Graham Motion finally got his first win of the meet as Arch of the Diver, who returned from a 23-month layoff as a gelding and racing on Lasix for the first time, scored a 9 1-2-length gate to wire victory in this off-the-turf maiden $40,000 claimer

Arch of the Diver, ridden to victory by Manny Franco, returned $16 to win.

Ding Dong Ditch, the 9-5 favorite, finished second.

Motion had started 26 horses at the meet with seven seconds and four thirds. Of course, I was hoping he was going to get his first winner of the meet in the Grade 2 Lake Placid later on the card. Hopefully, that will be his second winner of the meet.
