Petrov seems to save his best for allowance races.
A 4-year-old son of Flatter, Petrov won his fourth allowance race from five tries in 54 weeks -- second at Saratoga _ by wiring a stakes-caliber field under Jose Ortiz for trainer and part-owner Ron Moquett.
Petrov, coming out of a sixth-place finish in the Grade 1 Vanderbilt, hadn't shown this kind of speed recently. He broke sharp and went off in splits of 22.63 seconds for the quarter, 45.01 for the half, 1:08.92 for six furlongs and he covered seven furlongs in 1:22.01.
Favorable Outcome rallied for second whiel Breaking Lucky, in his first start in 11 months, finished third.
Sent off at 9-1, Petrov returned $21.40.
Behavioral Bias, who was expected to be on the lead, trailed early and finished fourth. Jockey Junior Alvarado jumped off after galloping out and Behaviorl Bias was vanned off.
