The 3-year-old colt Barahin was most impressive in recording a front-running, 5 1-2-length maiden victory. It was just his second career start and first since running third in debut in April at Keeneland and he took some early pressure from American Rule who did well to finish second.
Barahin's final time of 1:08.71 on a drying out surface labeled fast came off fractions of 22.45 for the quarter, 45.57 for a half-mile and 56.91 for six furlongs. Final eighth in 11.80.
Barahin, ridden by Jose Ortiz, is a son of Street Sense owned by Shadwell Stable and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin.
