Shannon Uske, who was thrown hard during the seventh race at Delaware Park on Wednesday, is body sore but did not suffer any broken bones, according to her agent, John Salamone.
Salamone said Uske would be off her mounts on Thursday but wouldn't be sidelined long. She was scheduled to be released from the Christiana Medical Center on Wednesday evening.
Uske was racing near the back of the pack in the 12-horse field of $8,000 maiden-claiming turf sprinters. She steadied her mount, Telling Me Softly, nearing the far turn but the 3-year-old filly stumbled after clipping heels and catapulted Uske forward over her head. Telling Me Softly then appeared to go over the top of Uske but did not fall.
