There are four scratches on the 8-race card that begins at 1:50 p. m. Pacific.

Race 1: (4) Saturna

Race 3: (5) Peach Pike

Race 5: (6) Smart Deal

Race 8: (3) Perfectly Reckless

The feature is a $50,000 optional-claiming race for 3-year-olds and following the scratch of Smart Deal owner-trainer Glen Todd has three of the six horses in the field. He thinks the best of the three is Proof It, but the homebred son of Texas Wildcatter has not performed well on wet tracks. He was my pick, but there is moisture in the track and rain in the area. I might take a shot with He's The Reason, who was undefeated as a 2-year-old and appears to be coming around after being a bit of a disappoint so far this year. 

The track is currently rated good. If it does happen to dry out I will go back to Proof It.
