Following yesterday's speed-friendly card at Keeneland, in which six of the seven dirt races were won by the frontrunner, here is an update on the full trends of the meet. Per Keeneland's handicapping database, there have been 33 main-track races this fall - with 14 of those being won by the half-mile leader, good for 42 percent winners. Most of those were also in front at the quarter-mile position.
Four more winners were no more than a half-length back at the half-mile call, which if added to the early leader group, would represent more than half the dirt races.
Number crunchers looking to fine tune the data further are advised to check out Keeneland's sortable database, which can be found at the link below. It includes charts and replays, among other information.
