Not on track at Churchill Down on Tuesday - but still within the state of Kentucky - a few Breeders' Cup runners turned in workouts. Moonlight Romance and Stillwater Cove, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint threats, breezed at Keeneland, while Spinster runner-up Champagne Problems breezed at Skylight Training Center in Oldham County, about a 40-minute drive from Churchill.
The latter, a Breeders' Cup Distaff candidate who has been based at Skylight for much of this year, along with other horses trained by Ian Wilkes, went six furlongs in 1:15 over the synthetic track.
Meanwhile at Keeneland, Moonlight Romance and Stillwater Cove worked in company over a "good" turf course in 49 4/5 seconds. The video of that work is included in this post - showing Moonlight Romance on the outside, Stillwater Cove on the inside. The final quarter mile was timed in 23 1/5 seconds, per Keeneland publicity.
