Stallwalkin' Dude, an earner of $1.7 million long based on the East Coast, is entered in the $50,000 Roadrunner on Tuesday at Zia Park in Hobbs, N.M.
He will break from post 2 in the six furlong race that serves as the local prep for the $100,000 Zia Park Sprint on Nov. 21. The New Mexico-based Justin Evans is listed as trainer for the partnership of David Jacobson and Head of Plains Partners. Jacobson has been the longtime trainer of Stallwalkin' Dude.
Stallwalkin' Dude, pictured, ran at Del Mar at the end of July, finishing seventh in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby. He then started in a Zia allowance Sept. 24, finishing second by a neck in the five and a half furlong race that marked his first out for Evans. Stallwalkin' Dude has worked back twice since the race, with both moves coming at Zia.
Evans has a second horse in a Zia stakes for Jacobson next week in Harlan Punch, a Grade 3 winner set to start in the $50,000 Veterans on Monday. The race is the local prep for the $150,000 Zia Park Championship at a mile and an eighth Nov. 21.
Harlan Punch, like Stallwalkin' Dude, ran at Del Mar in late July, finishing fifth in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap. He has made one start in New Mexico, and finished fourth in an allowance at the Downs of Albuquerque on Sept. 8.
