One trainer who won't have a problem is the massive amount of forecast rain hits Louisville on Wednesday into Thursday? William Haggas. Haggas, based at Somerville Lodge, in England, has his first two Breeders' Cup starters this weekend with Queen of Bermuda set for the Juvenile Turf Sprint and the 4-year-old filly One Master for the Mile. One Master scored a huge upset in the G1 Prix de la Foret over ground described in the past performances as "firm" but by Haggas as "rough." Handicappers looking to use the filly at a price on Saturday should look back in her past performances to wins over yielding turf this fall at Tipperary in Ireland and last year over soft at Yarmouth.
"If I were to pick a ground for her, I’d pick soft," Haggas said. "She loves soft."
Haggas, who nearly won the Prix de l'Arc d'Triomphe on Oct. 7 with the 3-year-old filly Sea of Class, notched his first American win in June when Call To Mind won the Belmont Gold Cup Invitational.
