Kentucky Oaks winners Abel Tasman and Monomoy Girl have landed posts 2 and 11, respectively, in a quality field of 11 for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff, set for Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Monomoy Girl, made the 2-1 morning-line favorite, has crossed the line first in five consecutive Grade 1s for 3-year-olds, but was disqualified to second in last month's Cotillion for interference in the lane. Florent Geroux will be aboard for trainer Brad Cox as the filly, facing older foes for the first time, breaks from the outside post in this field. She also broke from the outside post, 14, in the Kentucky Oaks.
Abel Tasman, with Mike Smith in the irons for Bob Baffert, has been installed as the 7-2 second choice.
The field also includes Grade 1 winners Blue Prize, Midnight Bisou, Vale Dori, and Wow Cat, and graded stakes winners Champagne Problems, Mopotism, Verve's Tale, and Wonder Gadot.
