Enable, the sensational European-based mare, drew post 2 and was installed as the even-money favorite _ the strongest morning-line favorite in any of the races _ by Mike Battaglia for Saturday’s $4 million Breeders’ Cup Turf.
Enable will try to become the first horse to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and BC Turf in the same year. Found won both races, but in different years.
Enable, 9 for 10 in her career, is trained by John Gosden, who is 0 for 7 in the Turf, and will be ridden by Frankie Dettori.
Aiden O’Brien has won the Turf six times and will send out the 3-year-old filly Magical, and the 3-year-old colt Hunting Horn in this year’s renewal.
Talismanic upset this race at 14-1 last year when he broke from the rail in a 13-horse field. Talismanic drew the rail in this year’s 13-horse field and will be ridden again by Marcel Barcelona.
The North America contingent is led by Arlington Million winner Robert Bruce, Joe Hirsch winner Channel Maker and Sword Dancer winner Glorious Empire.
The Turf field, from the rail out, is: Talismanic, Enabale, Channel Maker, Robert Bruce, Magical, Arklow, Glorious Empire, Liam the Charmer, Quarteto de Cordas, Hi Happy, Sadler’s Joy, Waldgeist, and Hunting Horn.
