Nearctic winner Hembree blew out Tuesday morning for the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs Trackside, where trainer Mike Maker is based.
As expected for a work this close to the race, it was an easy drill. Trackside clocker Richard McCreery timed him in 38 3/5 seconds.
Hembree is a 20-1 long shot on the morning line for Saturday’s race.
