Any thoughts I had about about the inside not being good on the Churchill main track today are now in doubt after Jaywalk's impressive, front-running score in the Juvenile Fillies.
Although Jaywalk wasn't right on the rail, she was certainly close enough to it during her jaunt around the track to make you think that it isn't as detrimental for runners to be near the inside as it was thought after today's first four dirt races.
Either that, or Jaywalk won off while racing against the grain of the track. And that's possible, too, though I'm leaning in the direction of the main track being more fair than it initially seemed.
Anyway, Jaywalk produced the second straight "Wow!" performance on this Breeders' Cup Friday card by a 2-year-old filly, following Newspaperofrecord's breathtaking romp in the Juvenile Fillies Turf. The boys have a tough act to follow coming up in the Juvenile Turf and Juvenile.
