A few quick Breeders' Cup mid-card impressions:
**City of Light was most impressive winning the Dirt Mile, and he was going to win even if the "real" Catalina Cruiser showed up. In the meantime, given Catalina Cruiser's dreadful Dirt Mile performance at odds-on and trainer John Sadler's continuing 0 for the Breeders' Cup record, it will be interesting to see how much that causes Accelerate's odds to drift in the Classic, if at all. I suspect it might to some extent.
**Let's not overlook the fact that Filly & Mare Turf winner Sistercharlie's four Grade 1 wins this year came at distances of 1 1/16 miles, 1 1/8 miles, 1 3/16 miles, and today, at 1 3/8 miles. That's admirable versatility.
**Roy H was very good today in the Sprint. No one else in that race really was.
**With no disrespect meant to Expert Eye, but he got the best of what this year was a decidedly sub-par Breeders' Cup Mile.
