Count Di Luna ($22.80), a first-time starter, won his debut in a maiden special weight race at six furlongs in Saturday's seventh race, the latest 2-year-old maiden winner for trainer Bob Baffert.
Ridden by apprentice jockey Assael Espinoza, Count Di Luna finished 1 1-2 lengths in front of 3-5 favorite Stretford End, who finished 7 1-2 lengths clear of third-place finisher Railman, a 60-1 chance.
Count Di Luna is owned by breeder Arnold Zetcher. The colt is by Liaison, a Grade 1 winner Zetcher campaigned and is out of House of Fortune, who won seven stakes from 2003 to 2006.
