Pair of filly-and-mare one-turn dirt stakes up later on the card today at Laurel Park, where a wet racetrack currently is listed as "good." Both races have unfortunately been affected by scratches.
In race 7, the $100,000 Willa on the Move, four of the 11 entrants are out of the six-furlong race: Crabcakes (#1), She's a Chance Too (#3), Zipper's Hero (#7), and Bath and Tennis (#11). I didn't fancy her, but Crabcakes was the 7-2 morning-line second choice behind Ms Locust Point (#5), who will be an odds-on favorite here provided she doesn't come up flat in the betting. I took a shot at beating her with Late Night Pow Wow (#4), who might offer some value because of the fact we've no idea how she functions away from her home base at Charles Town. The scratches do take some early and middle pace out of this race, but the tempo still should be at least moderate.
Four more are scratched from the $75,000 Geisha, race 8. Those out of this one-turn mile are Le Weekend (#3), My Sistersledge (#4), Irish Access (#5), and If I Was a Boy (#7).
