No Dozing, the 9 3-4-length winner of the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap on Nov. 2, will not run in Saturday’s Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct due to a suspected foot injury, trainer Arnaud Delacour said.
No Dozing breezed five furlongs in 1:00.40 over the all-weather surface at Fair Hill on Sunday. The next day, the horse was not 100-percent.
“I think we’re dealing with a foot,” Delacour said Wednesday. “We’re working on it. It’s tough to go to a race like that sideways. It was going to be a tough spot, I don’t feel very comfortable going there with a question mark so we decided to skip the race.”
Eight horses were entered Wednesday for the Cigar Mile. The draw will be later this afternoon.
The eight entered were: Mendelssohn, Patternrecognition, Sunny Ridge, Timeline, Copper Town, True Timber, Pat On the Back and Stan the Man.
There were eight entered in the Grade 3 Go for Wand and seven entered in both the Remsen and Demoiselle.
