Sailor's Thought tracked a sleepy pace along the inside to barely prevail in the feature over the favored Bear Paw, who took the overland route from last in the nine-furlong route. Rafael Hernandez rode Sailor's Thought for Chiefswood Stable and trainer Don MacRae.
The favored Black Bess benefited from a tardy start by another front-runner, Ishiyaya, to seize command early in an Ontario-sired allowance sprint for 2yo fillies. After holding a two-length lead most of the way, she got tired late, but held on to win by a head over Royal Wedding.
