It appears that there have been teletimer malfunctions in three of the dirt races so far today at Aqueduct, all in races contested over one mile on the dirt.
Note the discrepancies between the official teletimer and Trakus times for the following races:
Race 2
Teletimer: 25.85 - 49.82 - 1:15.30 - 1:41.41
Trakus: 23.90 - 47.76 - 1:13.39 - 1:39.42
Race 3
Teletimer: 26.08 - 50.55 - 1:16.61 - 1:42.92
Trakus: 24.31 - 48.66 - 1:14.94 - 1:41.11
Race 6
Teletimer: 25.27 - 48.56 - 1:13.34 - 1:38.35
Trakus: 23.36 - 46.53 - 1:11.51 - 1:36.42
Trakus has each of these races about 2 seconds faster at every call. Having hand-timed the races from video myself, the Trakus times appear to be very close to accurate. Hopefully this issue does not present itself in the upcoming Cigar Mile (Race 9), which is, of course, also contested over one mile on the dirt.
Timing issues aside, the clocking for this Go For Wand (Race 6) won by Marley's Freedom is obviously very fast when compared to the other one-mile dirt races on the card, no matter which timing method you're using. She ran a full 3 seconds faster than promising 2-year-old Kentucky Wildcat in Race 2 and about 4.7 seconds faster than claiming winner Stronger in Race 3. If the track hasn't changed since early in the day (too early to tell) this Go For Wand may receive a massive speed figure.
