After two days of being off the turf, grass racing returns at Del Mar today in time for the G1 Hollywood Derby. The course is rated good, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's better than that. This is a firm course and the grass is cut short; it doesn't become a bog like it can at a track like Belmont Park or Churchill Downs. It wasn't abused on Thursday or Friday, it was windy on Friday, and I'd bet it bounces back quickly.

The main track is fast.
