Jockey Jose Lezcano, who was injured in a race 3 spill at Aqueduct on Thursday, has been released from Jamaica Hospital.
According to the NYRA communications office, Lezcano has a fractured nose and will need to undergo a neurological consult before he will be allowed to resume riding.
Lezcano was aboard Consensus Thinking when the 3-year-old gelding broke down in his left front leg in upper stretch of the $50,000 starter race. Lezcano was thrown to the ground and then run over Crea's Bklyn Law, who reportedly kicked him in the face.
Consensus Thinking, who was trained by Rudy Rodriguez, was euthanized on the track.
After Consensus Thinking was injured, he wandered toward the inner rail in front of Gnarly, who jumped him, unseating apprentice Wes Hamilton, who walked off the track under his own power.
Gnarly, who stayed on his feet, reportedly was uninjured.
