Admire was assigned post 14 when the Grade 3, $200,000 Lecomte Stakes was drawn last Saturday. The one mile 70-yard Lecomte has a short run into the first turn, making far outside draws very challenging, and Fair Grounds racing officials confirmed Thursday that Admire, a last-start maiden winner, will be scratched from the Lecomte. 

Admire's defection would allow the race's lone also-eligible, West Texas, to get into the field, but West Texas, too, is expected to be scratched from the Lecomte, leaving a likely field of 13.
