Parx Racing canceled its Tuesday card due to lingering effects from the weekend winter storm and freezing temperatures.
There was training at Parx on Tuesday morning prior to the renovation break. The track crew then began grooming the track for the afternoon's races but the decision to cancel was ultimately made due to "some frozen clods in the track," according to David Osojnak, the track's director of racing.
"There is still a lot of moisture in the track from the storm," Osojnak said. "For the safety and health of our horses and riders, we decided to cancel."
Parx raced Saturday prior to the storm, which brought mixed precipitation to the area Saturday night into Sunday. Early Saturday afternoon, Parx preemptively canceled its Monday card.
The next scheduled race day at Parx is Saturday.
