Valedictorian backed off the pace under a crafty ride by Tyler Gaffalione and had plenty left when the real running began to easily hold off the 1-5 Rymska to upset the Grade 3 Suwannee River. The pace pressing Peach of a Gal finished third.

Valedictorian, a 5-year-old Temple City  mare, is owned by Epic Racing and trained by Kelly Breen.  Final time over the firm course for a mile and one eighth was 1:50.12. Valedictorian paid $21.20.
