A few thoughts on the upcoming Thunder Road:

- If you like RIVER BOYNE (1), you have to give DESERT STONE (4) a look given their current prices (1-1 vs. 7/2); Desert Stone just missed in their most recent start, and he had a much more difficult trip than River Boyne did

- There's no pace in this race, and the old BLACKJACKCAT (6) would be a very dangerous gate-to-wire threat this afternoon; he still may wire this field, but his recent form has been dreadful

- I've chased OHIO (2) time and time again...and I'm going to do it again this afternoon; his most recent run in the Fitzsimmons was fabulous (albeit against much weaker), but he's been trending in the right direction since Michael McCarthy claimed him a few starts back
