Swamp Souffle ($7) was the easy winner of Saturday's third race for $32,000 claimers at a mile, and popular at the claim box. The 3-year-old gelding was taken in a three-way shake by trainer Bill Spawr.
Prepared for Saturday's race by trainer George Papaprodromou, Swamp Souffle won by seven lengths, his third win in seven starts.
Palladium, the even-money favorite, was pulled up on the backstretch, but was walked off the track - and to the test barn. Palladium, trained by Doug O'Neill for Saturday's race, was claimed in a two-way shake by trainer Keith Desormeaux.
The stewards said 20 minutes after the race that the claim stands, pending an inspection by official veterinarian Tim Grande.
