Imprimis made a triumphant return from a six month hiatus, drawing away to an easy 3 1/4 length victory over defending champion Vision Perfect in the $75,000 Silks Run Stakes. Track record holder Pay Any Price finished third. The win was the third in as many races to start the card for jockey Paco Lopez and the fourth in as many starts over the local course for the winner.
Imprimis benefitted from a perfect trip, saving ground while sitting off a contested pace between Pay Any Price and Vision Perfect, who battled head to head through demanding early fractions. Lopez eased Imprimis outside the embattled leaders turning for home, the ultimate winner readily pulled away once switching leads at the top of the stretch before being allowed to coast through the latter stages of the race. Vision Perfect came back on at the end to finish second, a neck in front of Pay Any Price.
Imprimis, a son of Broken Vow trained by Joe Orseno for the Breeze Easy LLC, completed five furlongs in :54.64 and paid $6.60.
