Royal Son is sitting at an attractive price with 10 minutes to post for the Kentucky Cup Classic at Turfway, currently at odds of 6-1 with 7 minutes to post.

This is an appealing price on a horse with a three-for-six local record at Turfway and is probably due to him having been beaten in three straight races. But to these eyes, he had excuses for those losses. He had a troubled trip when fourth in this race last year, came back to run on turf, and then returned from a long layoff when third in the Prairie Bayou in his most recent start.

He looks likely to sit a nice trip, likely just off Lanier - who might be distance-challenged at 1 1/8 miles.
