Whisman who won the fifth race of his career Thursday to begin his one-year apprenticeship and graduate from a 10-pound bug to seven pounds, won a 14-horse first-level turf sprint allowance in race 4 on Ying Yue ($21) for trainer Mark Reid.
After beginning his career one for 63, Whisman has now won on five of his last 20 mounts and with four of his last 10.
