Monday's card at Lone Star Park will feature a brand new stakes race. The $100,000 Lone Star Park Turf Stakes is for fillies and mares at a mile, and it is expected to be run over firm ground. The main track is fast and the turf, firm, heading into the nine-race program that gets underway at 1:35 p.m. Central.
The Lone Star Park Turf Stakes will be part of a late pick four on raecs 6-9 that has a minimum guaranteed pool of $50,000. In addition, it is the fourth leg of a cross-country pick five hosted by Belmont Park. There is one scratch, Create a Star (6), who worked a bullet half-mile in 47.80 on Monday at Lone Star.
