The first-time starter Comical Ghost scored a good-looking win in his debut in a maiden special weight race for 3-year-olds in Saturday's fourth race.

Ridden by Joe Talamo for Bob Baffert, Comical Ghost ($3) was always near the front and drew clear in the final furlong to win the six-furlong race by 2 1-4 lengths over 3-1 Beleth, who closed from the back of the field. Comical Ghost was timed in 1:10.93.

By Ghostzapper, Comical Ghost is owned by by Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin Racing, who bred the colt. Comical Ghost is out of the brilliant race mare Hystericalady, who won 11 of 23 starts, including eight stakes, and earned $2,330,956.
