There was a three-horse spill in race 7 at Laurel Park on Saturday.
Hero's Welcome fell at the sixteenth pole, throwing jockey Jevian Toledo. Time Flies By (Jorge Vargas Jr.) and Homefield (Sheldon Russell) fell over Hero's Welcome.
All three riders got to their feet after the incident. Vargas came back to ride in race 8 but Russell took off the rest of his mounts with pain in a shoulder, according to agent Marty Leonard. Toledo will ride in race 9.
Hero's Welcome and Homefield were vanned off the track. Time Flies By was walked back to his barn.
Hero's Welcome is trained by Wayne Potts. Time Flies By is trained by Dale Capuano. Homefield races for trainer Michael Stidham.
Because only four horses finished the one-mile, $50,000 starter race, there was a refund in the Super Hi 5.
