An earthquake that measured approximately 6.4 on the Richter Scale was felt throughout Southern California, including Los Alamitos Racecourse, which has a nine-race program this afternoon.
The earthquake struck at approximately 10:35 a.m., and was based near Searles Valley, Calif., which is closer to Las Vegas than Los Angeles.
