As you can see, I don't have a good grasp of this year's Belmont Derby; I think it's wide open. DEMARCHELIER (12) is a horse I've always been fond of, and I think he deserves serious consideration again this afternoon. The other Chad horses all make sense, but I'll side with Demarchelier today.
Aidan O'Brien should always be respected, and CAPE OF GOOD HOPE (9) looks like a runner with a big chance. It would seem more likely than not that his uncoupled stablemate, BLENHEIM PALACE (11) is here to ensure there's some pace for Cape of Good Hope to run at.
A horse that's being dismissed on the board that I'm also mildly intrigued with is ENGLISH BEE (4) for Graham Motion. With the exception of a poor trip in the Columbia two starts back, this son of English Channel has more-or-less fired each and every time; at nearly 20-1, he's one to consider in exotics.
