Saratoga's 2019 meet kicks off with a pair of graded stakes - the Grace 3 Schuylerville for 2yo fillies going six furlongs on the dirt, and the Grade 3 Quick Call for 3yo turf sprinters.
Scratch one of the major players from the Schuylervile in #8 Aurelia Garland.
Of the eight left in the race, I like the "other" Doug O'Neill filly, Comical. She was impressive winning her career debut at Santa Anita and is bred to go on. Her new stablemate, Shippy, was even more impressive winning her Laurel debut with an 87 Beyer - not that I want to get too caught up in figures when considering horses that have only run once - and was purchased privately after that blowout score.
In the Quick Call I'm taking a shot with the NY-bred Elektronic for Linda Rice. He didn't beat much in his wins two and three starts back, but he looked good winning, and I like him cutting back out of that seven-furlong race last time, as those races are much different than the shorter turf sprints.
Listing moves up for me after scratches and makes a lot of sense here, though I thought he had a pretty soft trip last time in a race where the pace looked easy and put the closers up against it.
