Lovely Lilia, who was ninth of 10 in her debut at Del Mar on Aug. 24 in a maiden special weight race on turf, won her second start in a $30,000 claimer for maidens in Friday's sixth race by an eye-catching 15 1-2 lengths.
Ridden by Jorge Velez, Lovely Lilia led throughout, finishing 6 1-2 furlongs in 1:19.27. Owned by breeder John Liviakis, Lovely Lilia ($7.20) was the second choice behind Wakes Up Happy, who was sent off at even-money and finished third of seven.
Phil D'Amato trains Lovely Lila, a 2-year-old filly by Animal Kingdom.
