Preview of Oklahoma Derby Day card at Remington Park

It is Oklahoma Derby Day at Remington Park, where the main track is listed as fast the the turf, firm. There are 13 races on a special Sunday afternoon card that starts at 3 p.m. Central. Remington will have an all-stakes pick four on races 10-13 that has a minimum guaranteed pool of $75,000, according to track spokesman Dale Day. Below is a look at the card:

Race 3 - Kip Deville: Pickens (8) goes for Asmussen, the current leading trainer at Remington who has a slew of top contenders on the card. This one owns the field's best career Beyer Speed Figure, a 72 for a maiden allowance win two back at Prairie Meadows. Bernheim (5) meets winners off a debut score that has since produced two next-out winners.

Race 4 - N2X allowance, fillies and mares - Bee Balm (1) set the pace in the River Cities last out at Louisiana Downs and now moves back into the overnight ranks. Also note another runner coming out of the River Cities runs later on the card in the Ricks Memorial.

Race 5 - maiden special weight: Rosie's City Boy (3) is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Shotgun Gulch and Shanghai Skipper (9) is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Hey Byrn.

Race 6 - David M. Vance: Welder (4) the one to beat but were he to regress off Beyer Figure of 100 in his first start in three months last out, D'Rapper (1) is a multiple stakes winner who could take advantage. He defeated Welder in the Ed Skinner earlier this year at Prairie Meadows.

Race 9 - Remington Park Oaks: Gold Standard (2) goes for fourth win in a row while making her stakes debut against the established Lady Apple (4). The latter failed to bring home a check for the first time in her career last out, when traveling a mile and a quarter in the Alabama. She cuts back here to the mile and a sixteenth distance of her two biggest wins, the Iowa Oaks and Fantasy.

Race 11 - Remington Green: Mr. Misunderstood (5), the most accmoplished member of the field as a Grade 2 winner, and Keep Quiet (1), who has been racing at Saratoga, figure to get good support. Popularity (2) saw his form get a boost Saturday night when Mocito Rojo, who edged him last out in the $175,000 Governor's Cup at Remington, came back to win the Grade 3 Lukas Classic at Churchill. Popularity goes to turf here and his dam was a winner on the grass and she has produced a pair of turf winners.

Race 12 - Oklahoma Derby: The field has combined to win 14 stakes races - with eight of them graded. Mucho Gusto (10) exits the Travers, a race in which he finished a close third to Code of Honor, who on Saturday was placed first in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont. As for Mucho Gusto, he has a chance to wire the field in this spot with one of his main pace rivals, Tax, scratched. Mucho Gusto is backing up from a mile and a quarter, however, and there's a chance he could sit just off the pace, perhaps tracking Long Range Toddy. Long Range Toddy, who is making his first start since July, is a two-time stakes winner over the local main track. Overall, he's 3-for-4 on the dirt at Remington. Owendale (11) figures promienntly as the third-place finisher from the Preakness who can take advantage if the pace is quick up front Sunday.
