Apprentice jockey Jorge Velez won the second and third races on Saturday to move into a tie with Abel Cedillo for the lead in the jockey standings with eight wins at the autumn meeting.
Velez won the second race with Top of the Game ($5.20) and the third with Go for a Ride ($5.40). Both were favored.
He could be back in the winner's circle soon. Velez rides Claudelle (3) in the fourth and that filly is the morning-line favorite.
