Mr Jess Jenkins ($7.60) won the Grade 2, $150,000 Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship on Sunday at Zia Park in his first start since capturing the $3 million All American Futurity on Labor Day at Ruidoso Downs. He broke on top in the Zia race and led throughout for a neck win over Chilitos. The winner covered 440 yards on a fast track in 21.38 seconds. The race was one of five stakes on the card for Quarter Horses.
Also on the program, Ryansmanonthemoon ($8.80) overcame trouble to defeat Valiant Tiberias by three-quarters of a length in the Grade 1, $200,000 Zia Park Quarter Horse Championship.
