Got Stormy ($4.80) closed wide to win her second Grade 1 race of 2019 in Sunday's $300,000 Matriarch Stakes for fillies and mares.
Ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, Got Stormy finished three-quarters of a length in front of 5-1 Daddy Is a Legend, who closed from last. Juliet Foxtrot (9-2) led in early stretch but faded to finish third, 1 1-2 lengths behind Got Stormy.
Got Stormy, who is trained by Mark Casse for Gary Barber, ran a mile on turf in 1:34.24.
Toinette finished fourth, followed by Storm the Hill, Simply Breathless, Significant Form, Giza Goddess, Mucho Unusual, Lakerball and Painting Corners.
Got Stormy won the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga in August and was later second in the Woodbine Mile in September and the Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita in Nov. 2 when she was the 3-1 favorite. The Matriarch Stakes was her first race against fillies and mares since a four-length win in the restricted De La Rose Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 3.
