The $100K Display Stakes goes as the third of 12 races. Trainer Mark Casse won last year's Display with Sir Winston, who subsequently took the Belmont Stakes. He sends out Finalist, who's probably better than his recent dull form would suggest.
Even-money favorite Elusive Knight is a prospect for next year's Queen's Plate. After graduating at first asking with an 82 Beyer, he was a fast-closing second in a seven-furlong allowance. Trained by Sid Attard for Stronach Stable, the son of Ghostzapper is certainly bred to handle the stretchout to 1 1/16 miles.
Rounding out the five-horse field are Northern Thunder, who was a slow-starting sixth in both the G3 Grey and Coronation Futurity; Parx shipper Vanzzy, who has no synthetic track experience, and the speedy maiden Red Mercury.
There's a mandatory payout in both the Jackpot Hi 5 ($80K c/o) and Jackpot P6 ($27K c/o).
