Fast, firm, sunny, breezy for 13-race card, first post noon, Central. Warm here on NoLA, too - could be 77 at peak heat. East wind 10-12 mph.
Lynn's Map (#14) was a known scratch from the featured Lecomte, race 13, and he's the only horse out of there. No changes in the Silverbulletday, race 12.
The Duncan Kenner, race 2, is down to a three-horse field with Malpais and Pete's Play Call withdrawn. Unfortunate. Bobby's Wicked One figures to be 1-5.
Captivating Moon's camp opted for the Col E.R. Bradley, race 11, on turf, over the Louisiana Stakes, race 10, on dirt. Trainer Chris Block won a grass allowance here Thursday and nearly won another Friday, and Captivating Moon has some appeal as an alternative to favored Mr. Misunderstood.
All the dirt horses you'd have expected to be scratched from the Bradley to run in the Louisiana were.
The temporary turf rail was taken down yesterday evening and there's fresh ground down along the fence today. That almost has to be the best part of the course, so handicap accordingly.
My best bet on this card is Digital (#2) in race 4. Leading longshot play on the card is Deanos Cape (#1) in race 7.
