Mucho Gusto will head to Florida to compete in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup, trainer Bob Baffert said Saturday morning.
"It's a go," he said in a text.
Baffert made the decision following an encouraging work on Thursday -- six furlongs from the gate in 1:11.60 -- plus with how well he liked Mucho Gusto's post-work behavior when he trained Saturday morning at Santa Anita.
Mucho Gusto has not raced since finishing fourth in the Oklahoma Derby on Sept. 29. He won the Affirmed and the Barrera stakes at Santa Anita earlier this year, but his best performance was a second-place finish in the Haskell Invitational behind Maximum Security.
Baffert said Irad Ortiz Jr. had the mount.
