Dennis’ Moment has been assigned post 5 in a surprisingly large field of 12 3-year-olds for the Grade 2, $400,000 Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth, to be run Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
Dennis’ Moment will be making his first start since losing all chance at the start of the Nov. 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The Dale Romans-trained colt will be ridden by Flavien Prat as the 2-1 morning-line favorite for the 1 1/16-mile race.
Chance It, the 7-2 second choice, was assigned post 12 with Tyler Gaffalione to ride.
Eighty-five Kentucky Derby qualifying points (50-20-10-5) are on the line in the 75th Fountain of Youth, which will be part of a 14-race Saturday card that starts at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. Sunshine and a high near 70 are in the local forecast. TVG and FoxSports 2 both will have extensive coverage.
