The 10-race all-stakes program at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday - or Friday night across American time zones - is a welcome reprieve from world affairs.
The action begins at 9:35 p.m., Eastern, or 6:35 p.m., Pacific, which means the first race - the Fernhill Mile for 2-year-olds - is not that far off. Wagering is available at DRFBets.com. It will be very easy to find reasons to stay up late for this card.
There are four Group 1 races, beginning with the Australian Oaks at 12:30 a.m., Eastern, or 9:30 p.m., Pacific. That is followed by the G1 Sydney Cup at two miles, the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at 1 1-4 miles and the G1 Legacy Stakes at a mile.
There are 20-cent pick three bets beginning in the third, sixth and eighth races, and a 20-cent pick four - known in Australia as a Quaddie - covering the final four races, the seventh through 10th.
Enough of that. Let's detail the action!

P.S. - If Verry Elleegant (12) win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, there will be much rejoicing. In that same race, however, Addeybb is very easy to respect after his recent win.
In the seventh race, Young Rascal looks like a deserving favorite in the Sydney Cup. Addeybb and Young Rascal are trained by William Haggas of England, who could have a heckuva Saturday at Randwick.
