By My Standards has emerged from the Grade 2, $600,000 Oaklawn Handicap in good order, trainer Bret Calhoun said on Sunday. The horse won the mile and an eighth race in a sharp time of 1:47.80 and has earned a preliminary Beyer Speed Figure of 102, according to Beyer associate Randy Moss.
Calhoun said By My Standards will ship this week to Kentucky, with plans for his next race to be determined. He will know more as racing schedules become more concrete, with so many having been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. By My Standards on Sunday was relaxing at Oaklawn.
"Everything is very very good," said Calhoun. "He came out of it very well. He walked early this morning and when they put him back in his stall he bucked and squealed. I thought that was a very good sign."
By My Standards races for Allied Racing Stable.
