Emerald Point slipped up the rail at 11-1 to capture the nightcap Wednesday at Fonner Park, closing out the late pick five jackpot that had a mandatory payout and giving jockey Dakota Wood his fifth winner on the card.

The fifty-cent pick five that required all five winners returned $2,116. The final pool was more than $2.2 million, according to a chart of the race by Equibase.

Wood won three of the legs in the late pick five, starting with the sixth race on Diva’s Diva ($7.60) and the eighth with Kurious Kennedy ($4).
