Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, La., is scheduled to reopen its casino on Monday, according to a press release. The track's meet is set to start June 6. It will be conducted spectator-free.
The casino, which helps fuel purses, had been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which also delayed the start of the meet that had been scheduled to open in early May.
Louisiana Downs has special protocols in place for its casino reopening, according to the release. The casino will operate at 25 percent capacity and slot machines will be positioned to allow for social distancing. Louisiana Downs employees will have daily health checks and are required to wear masks.
The first condition book for the meet has been released, and the first day of entries is May 30, according to Louisiana Downs representative Martha Claussen.
