Racing resumed at Golden Gate Fields on Thursday, and bettors responded enthusiastically to the track's first program since late March.
Racing was halted earlier this spring because of the coronavirus outbreak. The track received permission from Alameda County health officials earlier this month to begin racing on Thursday.
The 20-cent Golden Pick Six had a mandatory payout on Thursday, beginning with a carryover of $398,294 from March 29. Bettors added $2,101,256 to the Golden Pick Six pool, which produced a payoff of $6,188.
The bet covered the fourth through ninth races. The winners were Real Keeper ($6.20), Constitutionaffair ($4), Miss Lucky Lager ($14), Loretta ($21.40), Why the Long Face ($12.60) and King Eddie ($9.60).
Real Keeper and King Eddie were the second choices. Constitutionaffair was the only winning favorite.
All-sources handle reached $8,743,690.
Golden Gate Fields will race largely on a Thursday-through-Sunday basis through June 14.
